  • Supports mandates for eDiesel in the UK and EU

Infinium eNaphtha

High-Level Description:

Infinium eNaphtha is a low-carbon alternative to petroleum-derived naphtha for use in chemical and industrial processes, particularly for the production of plastics, solvents, and other chemical products.

Key Features:

  • Replacement for petroleum-based naphtha feedstocks

  • Negative carbon intensity at plant gate

  • Contains no aromatics

  • High paraffin content

  • Usable in plastics production today

Recent Developments

New Products Launched

  • Project Pathfinder: World's first operational eFuels facility located in Corpus Christi, Texas, operational since 2023.

New Features Added to Existing Products:

  • Support for Low-Carbon Mandates: Infinium fuels (eSAF, eDiesel) now meet new regulations and mandates for low-carbon fuels in various regions, including the UK and EU.

New Partnerships

  • ENGIE Partnership (Project Reuze): Collaboration to build a major commercial scale eFuels facility in Dunkirk, France.

  • Breakthrough Energy Investment: Investment to enable availability of sustainable aviation fuel under an agreement with American Airlines and Citi.

Additional Information:

  • Decarbonization Scope: eFuels have the potential to partially decarbonize 1.4 billion vehicles, 27,000 aircraft, and 90,000 ships globally.

  • Annual CO2 Reduction Potential: Infinium’s solutions aim to address the 8 billion tonnes of CO2 annually emitted by global transportation and the 200 million metric tons of CO2 emissions from US plastic production.

Projects

Announced Projects

Project Pathfinder

  • Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, USA

  • Description: The first operational drop-in eFuels facility adjacent to Howard Energy Partners' facility, started production in 2023.

Project Roadrunner

  • Location: Texas, USA

  • Description: Conversion of an existing gas-to-liquid (GTL) facility in West Texas into an Infinium eFuels plant using renewable energy.

Project Reuze

  • Location: Dunkirk, Hauts-de-France, France

  • Description: Strategic partnership with ENGIE to build one of Europe’s largest commercial scale eFuels facilities using captured CO2 from a steel plant and renewable hydrogen.

Technology

Production Process

Infinium's eFuels are developed from green hydrogen and captured CO2 using a proprietary process refined over a decade. The main features are:
  • Electrolysis: Utilizes renewable electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.

  • Syngas Production: Combines hydrogen with CO2 to produce syngas using proprietary technology.

  • Liquid Fuel Production: Proprietary catalysts and processes convert syngas into liquid fuels (eSAF, eDiesel, eNaphtha).

Unique Aspects

  • Patented Catalysts: Infinium’s catalysts and reactors offer high conversion efficiency.

  • Integrated Process: Unique production process without the need for wax refining.

Environmental Impact

  • Low Emission Production: Near-zero process emissions and absence of fossil-carbon pollutants like sulfur and particulate matter.
