He holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
Matt Ozee – Partner
Matt Ozee serves as a Partner at Portico Property Management, supporting the firm's expansion strategy and underwriting teams. He plays a key role in sourcing new management opportunities and delivering analytical support across new and existing client relationships. Before joining Portico, Matt launched the Texas office for Origin Investments, overseeing the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities. With 20 years of experience, Heather began her multifamily career in 2003 as a Leasing Consultant and later as a Community Manager in various Texas cities. She has also served as a District Manager for Camden Property Trust, overseeing Class A and B communities in the Atlanta area. Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Texas Tech University.
Kara Morkovsky – Regional Vice President
Kara Morkovsky joined Portico in 2016 and was promoted to Regional Vice President in late 2023. She currently oversees the San Antonio, Austin, and Nashville markets. With over 25 years of experience in the multifamily industry, Kara has expertise in new construction, conventional, midrise, repositioning, renovations, build-to-rent, and student housing. She attended The University of Texas, San Antonio.
Yessika Gonzalez – Associate Vice President
Yessika Gonzalez joined Portico in 2022 and currently serves as an Associate Vice President in the DFW and East Texas Markets. With over 14 years of experience in the multifamily industry, she has excelled in all roles on the site level, systems and processes, acquisitions, and building strong teams as a Regional Director. Yessika's expertise includes repositioning sites and renovations, with experience in new construction, lease-up, conventional value-add, and midrise sites. She has a focus on relationship building with clients and is passionate about the performance of her teams.
Cara Horn – Associate Vice President, DFW Region
Cara Horn serves as the Associate Vice President for the DFW region, bringing nearly two decades of experience in property management. Her career began in 2004 as a leasing consultant with JPI in Austin, TX. She then gained valuable expertise with Colonial Properties Trust (REIT), where she worked on both stabilized and lease-up properties. In 2014, Cara transitioned to the DFW market with Berkshire Communities. Her expertise further expanded into Asset Management at JPI, followed by her role as Regional Manager at RPM Living. Most recently, she managed a portfolio of over 4,000 units at RPM Investments Asset Management, including newly acquired and value-add properties across DFW, Florida, and the Mid-Atlantic regions. Cara holds a BA in Journalism Broadcast News, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of North Texas.
Keshia Smith – Associate Vice President
Keshia Smith joined Portico in 2016 as a Community Manager and was quickly promoted to Regional Director just six months later. She brings more than 25 years of multifamily experience to her role, having held positions with some of the industry’s most respected companies, including Camden Property Trust, Greystar, and Capstone. Keshia holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Corporate Communications and an MBA from Texas Tech University. Her career began as a part-time leasing consultant during college and has steadily progressed to include leadership of diverse portfolios ranging from Class A to C communities, including midrise, garden-style, and build-to-rent (BTR) assets. She has successfully overseen new lease-ups, value-add renovations, and large-scale rehabs, consistently delivering strong results across a variety of markets. An active member of the Houston Apartment Association (HAA), Keshia is passionate about professional growth and industry involvement.
Amanda Ledger – Vice President, Accounting
Amanda Ledger joined Portico in 2018 as a Controller and has successfully recruited and led the Portico accounting team. She has onboarded over 60+ asset portfolios and participated in many department initiatives. Amanda was recently promoted to Vice President, Accounting, where her contributions keep the company working efficiently, including collaboration with other departments and continuing to lead and train the property accounting team.
