In September 2009, Cox Media Group, Inc. announced the formation of a new unit (http://www.linkedin.com/company/cox-media-group-digital-&-strategy-team) which transformed the separate digital business groups (including Cox Radio Interactive, or CXRi) into a more focused, efficient and unified platform supporting all Cox Media Group newspaper, radio and TV businesses. Previous to that, CXRi was an Atlanta-based division of Cox Radio, Inc. that focused on its new media opportunities and managed its Internet assets. Cox Radio, Inc., a radio broadcasting company, engaged in the ownership, acquisition, and operation of radio stations in the United States. As of December 31, 2006, the company owned/operated/provided sales and other services to 80 radio stations, including 67 FM and 13 AM stations.
