Tower Hamlets College

On August 1 2016, Tower Hamlets College merged with Hackney Community College to create New City College. Redbridge College joined the group in April 2017. In August 2018, the group merged with Epping Forest College. New City College has 20,000 students, 800 staff and a turnover of close to £70m a year. Each college retains their campuses in each of their local communities. The College offers education for students aged 14-18 and adults 19+. Students can study a range of courses including A Level (at the college's new Attlee A Level Academy) and vocational, GCSE and higher education and industry specific courses in accountancy, IT, early years and health and social care amongst others. It also has one of the largest ESOL provisions in the country. There is also provision for apprenticeship training. Gerry McDonald is Group Principal and CEO.
