Summary

Over the past twenty eight years I have built my career as an international entrepreneur, venture investor and board level advisor in the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea the United States and Hong Kong. I have worked or co-invested with, learned from and been mentored by world class teachers, innovators, artists, authors, technologists, executives, entrepreneurs and investors across multiple industries and multiple generations. I believe in the power and the path of entrepreneurship and innovation to progress civilization and society. I want to support entrepreneurs to help them succeed by building companies that contribute to the quality of life of people as a means to benefit society today and advance a vibrant human civilization into the future. My vision of a positive future for human civilisation was deeply influenced by the imagination of science fiction authors Isaac Asimov, Gene Roddenberry and David Brin. My thinking about success in business and life and my "pragmatic and experimental idealism" has been deeply influenced by my family, Dudley Lynch who wrote the Strategy of the Dolphin and Dr Kazuo Inamori who was the Founder of Kyocera. I am also eternally grateful to the mentors and role models, from East and West, who kindly guided me on my own entrepreneurial journey such Eric Haessler, Kaoru Hayashi, Joi Ito, Farhad Mohit and George Zachary. As path in the real world, I believe that entrepreneurship can only be "Mastered" in practice and not theory. I believe that the true art of entrepreneurship is a deeply human and living adventure into the future. This courageous adventure holds secrets that not only can lead to exponential wealth creation but also positive transformation and renewal of the self and the world for those who are sincerely dedicated to walking its pathways and harvesting the fruits of both failure and success. Moreover, I find my most profound joy and fulfillment and my greatest motivation in my professional life through the deeply authentic connections that it is possible to make by sharing this adventure into the future with other similarly minded friends around the world.
