Summary
I play guitar in various bands and have made several records. I'm the Media and Marketing Lead for Kendal Squash and Racketball Club. Tasks include media liasion with UK and International Squash Organisations, general marketing for the club, management and maintenance of the club website and other roles as per club commitee requirements. I'm a Certified AWS Machine Learning Specialist and AWS Cloud Solutions Architect (Associate). I was the Technical Innovations Manager for the Jisc Digital Resources directorate. Activities included: Strategic and technical lead for Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning developments. Strategic planning lead for Cloud computing. Lead on horizon scanning - exploring and analysing new technologies and innovations. Organiser of the Jisc Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Centres of Excellence teams. Lead Member of W3C Schema.org Architypes Group. Organising Committee member for the 'Linked Open Data for Libraries, Archives and Museums' (LODLAM) International Summits. Experienced speaker at technical conferences and events across a range of domains including Repositories, UKSG, ELAG, UKMCG, BBC TechEd. Thought leadership role on topics including AI/ML, Cloud architecture, Archives, Libraries, Museums, Repositories, eLearning, APIs, Linked Data, repository protocols, SEO and many more! I occasionally blog about jazz, write reviews for Jazzwise magazine, and I've hosted a radio show on Manchester’s ALL FM 96.9 station. I have a BSc Economics and MA Continental Philosophy from the University of Warwick. Following this I was a professional guitarist in a number of London based bands, and a sound engineer for various independent artists, notably My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3).
