Summary
I help SaaS vendors of products built for enterprises get from point A to point B with their product marketing. Point A is usually “no” or “bad” product marketing (or sometimes “my product marketer just left!”). Point B is when we’ve made progress (not reached perfection) and they’re ready to hire someone full-time/long-term. Between A and B is the no-man’s land where they desperately need product marketing help but can’t hire someone — either because they don’t have budget, can’t find the right person, or there’s uncertainty in their business that makes them reluctant to commit. Or all of the above. That’s where I come in. I serve on an interim basis to bridge the gap. I've done product marketing for 20+ years and 50+ companies of all different shapes and sizes — including some big successes like Demandware/Salesforce and Unica/IBM. I’ve got gray hair. I’ve been through the school of hard knocks. I know what works and what doesn’t. And I know how to ramp up quickly and make a difference immediately. Here’s what I’m not: I’m not a consultant or a coach. I don’t just give advice or throw a bunch of templates over. I roll up my sleeves, work like a regular employee would, and get stuff done. I’m not a “fractional” leader who wants to hang around indefinitely. You may only hire me part-time. But my goal is to get us to the point where I can pass the baton to someone else. I’m not a freelancer or contractor with a tightly-scoped project I won’t deviate from. Most clients don’t know exactly what kind of help they need — or how much or how long. Together we figure it out and then I adapt as priorities shift. I’m not an agency always trying to book more hours to pad pricing to cover overhead. I charge you for the actual work I do and the value I deliver, nothing more. Want to chat — about product marketing, the self-employed life, careers, job networking, or anything else?
