Summary
As president of The Emerge Group, Inc., Andrea Corry develops targeted PR programs for a broad range of organizations. She founded The Emerge Group, a company that provides strategic public relations, in 1999. With more than 15 years of experience, Andrea has a proven track record in helping clients differentiate themselves in the marketplace, build a solid leadership position and gain corporate and product visibility. Some of the clients for whom she has implemented successful public relations and marketing communications campaigns include Tripwire, QUALCOMM (through Porter Novelli), IBM, Remedy Corporation and ThinkFree. The results of these campaigns include coverage in consumer, trade and high-level business publications including Los Angeles Times, PC Magazine, USA Today, Newsweek, BusinessWeek and The Wall Street Journal. Prior to founding The Emerge Group, Andrea served as corporate communications manager for SkillSet Software, Inc., an enterprise-level HR software provider, where she implemented strategic public relations programs for the company. Before joining SkillSet, she worked as a consultant -- serving clients such as Brown and Caldwell, The BOC Group, Cisco Systems, Tandem Computers and Xerox Corporation. She also held corporate communications and public relations positions at companies including Creative Labs, Inc. She has written for several publications including The Christian Science Monitor. She also served a stint as an advertising copywriter and account manager for various business-to-consumer clients. Andrea earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication from the University of California at San Diego and a Masters of Journalism from Boston University. She is an award-winning writer, having received recognition from organizations including the American Advertising Federation. Specialties: PR for high-tech companies in the enterprise-level software and consumer technology arenas. These range from Internet security software companies to office productivity solution and wireless providers.
