Summary
Andrew Kosztyó – a thirty-four-year veteran of the venture capital, investment banking and high-tech sectors – most recently served as a Risk Officer on the J.P. Morgan "Country Risk" desk. At the dawn of the Internet-era Kosztyó was the CFO/ COO of BuyerWeb, Inc., a B-2-B start-up providing market-leading, “request-for-quote” technology to clients including Prodigy, Edmunds Automotive, and the Knight-Ridder newspapers. Kosztyó executed two over-subscribed fund-raising rounds totaling $3.6M and involving 50+ private investors, including Partners from Advent International, Goldman Sachs and Soros Private Equity. As the first Senior Associate at the Hungarian-American Enterprise Fund (“HAEF”) – a $70M Venture Capital Fund based in Budapest, Hungary and chaired by John Whitehead, the former co-chairman of Goldman Sachs – Kosztyó was involved in 28 HAEF transactions totaling $33.5M and was elected to the Supervisory Boards of five portfolio companies. Kosztyó also wrote a weekly column in Hungary’s largest newspaper (Magyar Hirlap) entitled “The Art of the Entrepreneur.” Kosztyó is the author of the almost-completed book, "UNEMPLOYABILITY: Understand and Conquer the Next Great Challenge of the 21st Century Workforce." Andrew graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Economics and Business. He’s the recipient of the Ossip Award for the most accomplished undergraduate writer. He earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he was a regular editorialist at The Harbus News.
