Summary
I am currently head of engineering for Aurora, a startup that is applying innovative approaches and solutions to a number of areas of commercial insurance. I am running a global, agile, multi-disciplinary team all striving to deliver quality on time, every time. I not only have a broad understanding of Application Architecture (especially where it relates to Microsoft’s Azure Platform) but also enjoy helping to implement these ideas - there's nothing quite like hands on development to really understand the direct impact of architectural decisions. ---- At WTW I had the privilege of working as a Cloud and application architecture evangelist with dozens of application teams and leaders across the organisation. I would, for example, help address their immediate needs and concerns in taking their existing, successful on-premises products into Azure. I worked closely with them to remove existing blockers and adopting modern Agile approaches to application modernisation. I continue to apply my C# development skills and have often taken projects from Architectural design through to creating Azure DevOps organisations/projects on their behalf, pipelines, process templates, coding in .Net Core etc and acting as scrum master until teams were comfortable apply these approaches themselves. I am passionate about keeping up to date and sharing details of emerging technologies. I am proud of the great relationships I built with our Microsoft partners and my monthly 'Azure for All' forum that was regularly attended by over 100 colleagues.
