Summary
I began my career at a small New England ISP in 1995 as a teenager. Moved to California to become Netscape's youngest employee in 1996. Co-founded Tellme with Mike McCue in 1999; acquired by Microsoft in 2007. Founded Upserve in 2009, acquired by Lightspeed Commerce in 2020. Joined Foundation Capital in 2019 to invest in founders. Co-founded Alianza Capital in 2024 with Brent Grinna to invest in Puerto Rico. Most important job: Dad to 3 boys with my family co-founder, Joanna :-) In my native Rhode Island, I served on the state board of education; helped establish Teach for America's Rhode Island corps, and helped open one of the state's highest-performing public charter schools. In Puerto Rico, I serve on the board of non-profit Dorado Cares and I am an active investor in the local innovation economy. Skills & knowledge: Leadership, product/technology strategy, sales, early stage technology investing, product marketing, venture capital & private equity, etc. The stuff you learn over decades of entrepreneurship.
