Summary
I am passionate about the transition to a sustainable energy system and ensuring a live-able climate. Key to this in my view, will be renewables and flexibility, including storm-proof renewables, natural systems that give system services and finding and investing in technologies that efficiently and effectively transform carbon to value. While wind and solar will enable renewable electrification, energy storage will enable them to become baseload energy and to serve as capacity as well as energy. Key to unlocking the solutions needed in innovation and technology is collaboration between the energy industry and entrepreneurs. I've worked in the renewable energy industry for the last 20+ years, and at key moments of change - Crafting the California Global Warming Solutions legislation with Bob Epstein and E2, creating the Low Carbon Fuel Standard, as well as on Shell’s initial integration of renewables into the business. I have been incredibly privileged to work with great people and on fantastic projects. And I am honoured to serve on a number of boards of companies which has given me the opportunity to collaborate with very talented entrepreneurs and help their companies to become even better. I enjoy spending time with my family, being in the countryside as much as I can, exploring new places and cultures, and finding ways to make the world a better place. I love learning languages and am currently studying Mandarin and Korean. Proud member of @InfraNEDs and @ChapterZero
