Anthony Ang

Summary

Anthony is currently the Chairman and CEO of Global Star Acquisition Inc (SPAC listed on Nasdaq). He is also the CEO of Python Asset Management and Singapore's Non-resident Ambassador to Tunisia. He was CEO of Sasseur Asset Management Pte Ltd until July 2021 and sits on the Board of Sunrise Shares Holding Ltd and Euroports Global Limited, which are listed in Singapore and Yong Tai Berhad, which is listed on Bursa Malaysia. Anthony is also involved in several fintech and technology start up's. Anthony has over 40 years of experience at senior level in economic development, manufacturing, consulting and investment. He started his career and served 12 years with the Singapore Economic Development Board, and last served as the Regional Director for North American. In 1993, Anthony joined Armstrong Industrial Corporation Limited and served as its Group GM / ED for 7 years; helping to list the company on the Singapore Exchange in 1995. In 2000, Anthony joined Vertex Management, a leading Singapore-based global VC firm as SVP responsible for investments in Japan, India and Singapore. Anthony joined GIC Real Estate, a global real estate fund manager in 2001 and served as one of its global EVP's for 2 years. Anthony also served as the Exec Director of the Majulah Connection, an NGO that aims to provide business linkages for global executives interested in Singapore. Anthony joined the ARA Group in 2006 and served full time for 11 years during which he was involved as the CEO of its flagship real estate private equity fund (Asia Dragon Fund) for 4 years and as CEO / Executive Director for Fortune REIT for over 5 years before joining Sasseur Group, the leading Outlet operator in China, in 2017 and was CEO there for 4.5 years. Anthony completed the International Directors Programme (INSEAD) in 2019. Anthony also attended a Strategic Marketing Programme (for senior executives) at Stanford University (USA), in 1992. He holds an MBA from INSEAD (on a full scholarship in 1982) and a B.Sc. (Mech Eng) with 1st Class Honour from the Imperial College, London, in 1979.
