Bart and his wife Barb own O’Brien Estate Winery in Napa Valley, which has become the winery destination in Napa Valley to celebrate anniversaries and engagements. O’Brien Estate has a series of 8 bottles of wine with poetry written by Bart to Barb, telling the universal story of a deepening relationship between 2 people. O’Brien Estate wines are not available anywhere but at the winery and to its 3,000 wine club members. Bart was on the Board of Directors of BioIncept, a biotechnology company pursuing an innovative approach to treating immune disorders, transplant rejection, and other inflammatory diseases using PreImplantation Factor (PIF) a new discovery of how an embryo controls its mother's immune system. Unfortunately, BioIncept declared bankruptcy in June of 2023. The assets were purchased by Dr. Doug Prince, and the company has been renamed Prince Biotech, and is continuing to pursue its mission. Bart has been a co-founder of two successful software companies - RSA Data Security and Calico Commerce. Bart has also been on the executive team of several other startups, including iSpheres, Sabrix and Attensity.
