Summary
I retired from my software career in 2022 to pursue personal interests. I now spend most of my time investing, surfing, traveling, and volunteering as a California Naturalist and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster youth. I’m always interested in new technology ventures and am open to advisory opportunities where I can add value, particularly helping early-stage software startups find product-market fit and rapidly ship working software. Before retiring, I was a product management executive with 25 years of experience at software startups and public companies. I’ve led the development of successful software products from the ground up, including enterprise B2B SaaS applications, open-source developer platforms, and mobile applications. Three startups I’ve worked at were bought by public companies. My professional specialty is leading product and engineering teams in fast-paced startup environments. I enjoy figuring out how to apply technology to solve hard business problems and leading teams to do it. I thrive in early-stage startups where teams need to build working software quickly and iteratively to discover product-market fit. I have deep technical skills, including engineering management, architecture design, and programming. I know how to collaborate closely with developers, software architects, and technical managers to deliver world-class products. Specialties: software startups, enterprise B2B SaaS, cloud infrastructure, mobile, open-source software, developer platforms, architecture design, databases, APIs.
