Summary

My experience in technology coupled with my finance, business, marketing, and people leadership experience provides an ideal platform for developing and growing technology based businesses. I have a particular interest in early stage and growth stage technology and tourism businesses, and have built and sold my own business as well as being a co-founder of a venture backed start-up and founding employee of another successful start-up. Having worked in the US and UK and having been involved with companies with a global focus while working in NZ, I have a good understanding of what it takes to build globally focused businesses from NZ. I believe success in business comes from listening to and engaging with your customers, and providing simple and elegant solutions to meet their requirements, while providing exceptional customer support. I also believe that in order for a business to achieve sustained, long term success, the company culture and quality of leadership is critical. In line with this I have focused on building strong teams and coaching individuals to achieve beyond their expectations, and aligning everyone's goals with the business strategy. I am the co-inventor of several important patents in the field of social networking and social search. I am currently involved in several early stage companies as an adviser and mentor to the founders, and am always looking for opportunities to help founders build their business.
