Summary

As an attorney, president of a NASDAQ listed company and agent at a top Hollywood agency, Keith Boesky has been defining the intersection of the content and technology communities for over twenty-five years. Over the years his clients ranged from Morgan Stanley and Apple Computer to very early stage venture backed startups. .Through relationships with companies like Osterhout Design Group (Smart Glasses), Improbable (Spatial OS) and Otoy, he focuses on enabling software and hardware technologies for augmented and mixed reality. Boesky handled his first VR transaction in 1994. In 1993 Boesky got into games by cold calling a game developer mentioned in the local newspaper. By 1996 this turned into the largest game practice in the country and retention by Eidos plc for its IPO in the United States. In the prospectus, he theorized games could be used to platform intellectual property. The CEO agreed and hired Boesky as president of Eidos Interactive, Inc. and told him to grow Tomb Raider out of games. By 1999, Tomb Raider anchored a best selling book, a blockbuster comic book, the first action figure line led by a game character or a woman and Lara Croft appeared in multiple commercials and back to back covers of Entertainment Weekly and Time Magazine, and in progress to a film. After moving to Los Angeles Boesky set up a series of innovative game deals for "A" list talent and brands only to find the talent agencies did not want him around when the deals closed. He joined ICM. Boesky made it two years. During that time he brought games into film (Prince of Persia), clients into games (Peter Jackson's King Kong), anime (Afro Samurai), comic books and other media. He restarted Boesky & Company in 2004 to work with game developers and ip to cross the technology and media divides as well as very real geographical borders. Clients range in size from tiny iOS developers to Riot Games which was tiny when he joined the advisory board.
