Summary
Bradford Walters is a dynamic and accomplished leader with successful international careers in investment banking, technology entrepreneurship, and hotel development. Currently residing in Tokyo with his family, Brad is renown for his strategic vision and entrepreneurial spirit, consistently driving transformative growth and delivering outstanding results. After completing his education in the UK and Canada, Brad launched his career in investment banking with McLeod Young Weir in Toronto. Later moving toTokyo to work in the US Treasury Bond market before transitioning to private banking in Hong Kong and Vancouver, where he advised high-net-worth clients before starting his own advisory firm. Returning to Tokyo, Brad co-founded Rainbow Partners Inc., a pioneering digital music technology firm that put the name on CDs and other media recognition solutions to industry giants such as Sony PlayStation and Samsung as well as millions of consumer electronic devices. Under Brads leadership, Rainbow Partners became a leader in the sector and was acquired by NASDAQ listed TiVo Corporation (formerly ROVI) in 2009. After living with his family in Vancouver, Paris, and Singapore, Brad returned to Japan with the goal of sharing Japan's rich culture with the world. In 2017 he launched Old World KK Inc., aiming to share with Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage through exceptional hospitality experiences. He developed Machiya Maya Gion, a beautifully restored multi-unit traditional machiya (wooden townhouse) in Kyoto’s historic geisha district, offering guests a unique blend of Japanese charm and modern luxury. Building on this success, Brad then created Genji Kyoto, a luxury boutique hotel inspired by the classic Japanese novel The Tale of Genji. Situated along the scenic Kamogawa River in Kyoto, the property seamlessly integrates timeless Japanese aesthetics with contemporary design. Now part of the prestigious Marriott Bonvoy™ and Design Hotels™ collections, Brad remains involved in multiple facets of the business. Driven by his belief in the power of cross-cultural exchange, Brad’s ventures are more than just businesses—they are platforms that celebrate heritage, innovation, and global harmony, making a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.
