Summary
My focus is "black swans", phenomena so improbable that most people behave as if they didn't exist. For more than a decade I have investigated black swans of learning, finding methods of instruction -- some of them 50+ years old -- that are so effective that the educational community pretends they don't exist. For several decades I have experienced and investigated black swans of wellness -- wellness tools that are so powerful they seem magical. My background is in math, computer science, artificial intelligence, software research and development (in many industrial domains, including healthcare), and professional and K-12 education. I studied and did graduate research at Caltech, MIT, and Stanford (where I earned my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering). I have worked at huge semiconductor companies as well as several software start-ups. I have also been a professional teacher, from kindergarten to graduate school. I'm now using that knowledge and experience to create impossibly powerful learning software.
