Summary
Latest: Building The Presser Network - WordPress for Everything, focusing on new verticals beyond K12 schools: GovPresser, TownPresser, CountyPresser, GreekPresser, FarmPresser, etc. More soon. Currently: Building SchoolPresser - WordPress for Schools, a full service design and development company that also offers hosting, support and maintenance for public school district web sites. I was part of the Engagement Technologies team at the World Economic Forum where I was Sr. Manager (UX Design) responsible for unifying the design of all screen-based properties from the web sites to the iOS apps. At Sitrion, I designed and built social media web sites and tools for the U.S. Army (U.S.M.A. at West Point) and Fortune 500 companies. My clients range from the large (Thomson Reuters, Hearst, Aetna) to the small (Bluefly, Snowboard Magazine). I was part of the team that launched Borders.com, the e-commerce site for Borders Books & Music in 1998. I designed the first widely-adopted XUL-based skin/theme for the Mozilla browser and helped co-author the O’Reilly book “Creating Applications with Mozilla”. In 2003 I led the development of online community software for the Wesley Clark for President campaign. While there I launched the Clark Community Network, an online community for supporters that gave every person who wanted on a blog (and a voice in the campaign). This pioneering work foreshadowed the work done by the Obama team in 2007-2008 and the 2012 campaigns. I am considered a pioneer of the blog format, having defined the concept in 1999 in the groundbreaking essay “Anatomy of a Weblog” which has been published in several books about the history of blogs. Specialties: More than 20 years experience with dozens of CMS packages, including WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine, Blue Martini and many more. Expert in front-end development technologies, UX design and cross-team integration. Frequent WordCamp speaker and member of the WordPress Enterprise Growth Council.
