Summary
Carlton L. Oneal is the President of LightSpeedEdu, Inc. (formerly Light Speed, LLC), a privately owned eLearning and communications firm founded in 1994. Light Speed specializes in eLearning, motion graphics and multimedia video development. This includes educational and promotional message development, creative/motivational messaging, eLearning course design, development and production, video editing and post production, Flash design and programming. Mr. Oneal joined the firm full time in 2002 bringing 18 years of corporate experience to his consulting practice with a breadth and depth of management experiences in Marketing, Sales, Communication, Training & Development with Merck and Co, Inc. He subsequently served as Director of US Marketing for Cardiovascular Products at Bayer Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Oneal served on the Board of Directors of the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC), for 10 years where he was also Chairperson of the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Input Committee. He is a recognized supporter and advocate of minority business interest and, as a result, received the MBE Empowerment Award from the GNEMSDC and the Business & Economic Development Award by The State of Connecticut African American Affairs Commission. After serving two terms as Secretary to the National MBE Input Committee, he was recently elected Chair, National MBE Input Committee and a member of the NMSDC Board of Directors. Light Speed is an unprecedented six time recipient of the “Supplier of the Year” award for the GNEMSDC, 2012 being the most recent recognition; and Light Speed, was a 2007 recipient of the prestigious National Minority Supplier Development Council “Supplier of the Year” Award for the Northeast Region. Additionally, he serves as the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission for the Town of Hamden, Connecticut. For fun and relaxation he enjoys training in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do (3rd degree Black Belt). Although he no longer competes in Tae Kwon Do, he holds various competitive titles in point sparring and traditional forms and now gets great joy by assisting in the training and coaching of youth, aged 5 – 25, who compete throughout the greater New England area.
