Summary

There once was a racehorse named “Something Special”. I am not a betting man, but if I were, I would have bet on that horse. Why? Because when I have the privilege of inspiring a team of people to rally around something special, to leave a legacy of unique accomplishment, that’s when I’m “in the flow”. For me, it’s all about creating a signature experience in collaboration with others. I’m driven to win, and win big, while leading a team to achieve uncommon results that define an organization and/or industry. I did that when I started Virgin Media’s consumer broadband business, leading it from the seed of an idea to a million customers, capturing 75 percent market share, and generating $400 million in annualized revenue over a four-year period. I did it again as a co-founder of Dawn Capital, a leading early stage venture capital firm in Europe that has generated returns in the top decile of its vintage year with multiple $1B+ exits. Most recently I was able to scale Info-Pro Lender Services from a regional B2B compliance software provider into the #3 player in North America with world-class net promoter scores, which was successfully sold to LERETA and its PE backers in May 2023. In August 2023, I joined Intellitrans, a Roper Technologies SaaS company that provides globaly supply chain visibility services, as CEO, and I look forward to partnering with their excellent team to continue its journey as a industry leader and to help make the next chapter in its history an extraordinary one. I learned the power of team early, playing high school football. Our team consisted of very talented individual athletes. But despite all that talent, we never won a game all season. Yet, the next year, with half our star players having graduated, we went on to win the championship. How? We operated as a unit, ensuring that each one of us had each others’ backs, knowing our individual roles, but also knowing how and when to shine for the team. Where I can shine for a team is in identifying a breakthrough strategy or finding a disruptive approach to a market. I love thinking as much as leading, and I set the bar even higher for myself than I do for my teams. My watchwords include aspiration, inspiration, authenticity, integrity, grit, compassion, commitment, optimism, and resilience. When all those things are in place, something special happens.
