Summary
I am a driven and passionate product builder with more than 26 years of visionary wins and scars from living at technology's leading edge. I started my career turning ideas from HP Labs into shipped products for HP's enterprise customers. At the height of the first web boom I was designing process automation systems for DARPA and other federal agencies. I started using Ruby on Rails in 2005 and have created many innovative solutions as first engineer or leader of a great team. Along the way I developed deep knowledge of cloud services, development processes, and team management. I have created a social community network for physicians (iMedExchange, 8k members soon after launch); a social giving network for charities (GiveZooks); an innovative semantically-linked book retailing site for Biblegateway's 8 million monthly unique visitors; an medical condition & activity tracking big-data service with mobile apps (Jiff); and a order, configure, manufacture, & logistics platform for a growing fashion brand (Trumaker). The web came on like a hurricane. What's next? AI, genomic medicine, material science, or just smart web sensors everywhere. I am interested in all this plus I like to ski, travel, cycle, and generally explore what's next. Specialties: Hands on creation of innovative software systems.
