Summary
Mr. Cheng has over 15 years of microprocessor architecture/design and management experience. Mr. Cheng was the co-founder, president & CEO of Accet Network, a venture-backed semiconductor company developing IP Storage accelerator chips for NAS and SAN targeting the multi-billion dollar network storage market. Prior to Accet Network, Mr. Cheng founded Scenix/Ubicom which to date has raised over $80 million from top tier VCs such as Mayfield, and successfully launched the first fully functional chip, SX28, with $500K budget in less than 9 months. Subsequently, the Cahners and InStat Groups Electronic Year Book awarded the chip as one of the Top Ten Processors. Mr. Cheng was the first employee of Advancel Logic which later spun into Cerent and was acquired by Cisco for $7 billion. He previously designed Pentium Compatible, SPARC at SUN/Fujitsu, and uC/uP at National Semiconductor. Mr. Cheng currently holds 9 US patents and earned his MS in engineering management from Stanford University, MSEE from Cornell University and BSEE and BSCS from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Cheng also attended the BSME program at University of Hong Kong.
