Summary

Corey Wong is a Director for Arup in Hong Kong and a well-rounded Senior Transport and Infrastructure Specialist with ~ 25 years experience on urban public transport, e-mobility, highway/bridge, rural road, rail, airport, and active mobility projects. His experience spans the transport and urban development lifecycle from policy and strategy to planning, simulation, engineering and design, to tender and procurement. He is a detail-oriented but strategic thinker who enjoys going to new places, working with new colleagues and teams from different cultures/backgrounds, and collaborating to improve local livelihoods/communities. He has served extensively as Team Leader and/or lead Senior Transport Specialist on MDB projects for AIIB, ADB, the World Bank, and others throughout Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America with a focus on transport infrastructure development including: • Bus/BRT projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Timor-Leste & Vietnam • E-Mobility projects in Cambodia, the Philippines, and Vietnam • Road/highway projects in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Former Yugoslavia, Maldives & Philippines • Rail projects in the Philippines, Bulgaria, Romania, Jakarta, Thailand & Hong Kong (including TOD) • Ferry/maritime projects in the Philippines & Hong Kong • Airport projects in the Philippines, Cambodia, Hong Kong & Singapore • Walk/cycle network projects in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Philippines & Hong Kong • Freight related projects in Former Yugoslavia, Romania & UAE He also served in similar roles in the United States and Canada for eight years leading BRT projects throughout the West Coast of the United States, rail projects for BART in San Francisco, California High Speed Rail, and Sound Transit in Seattle, as well as strategic planning for the 2040 Transport Master Plan for TransLink in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to Arup, he served as Transport Planner on feasibility studies and due diligence efforts for municipalities, governments, and major international lending institutions including EBRD, IDB, JBIC, and JICA. He has worked in 25 countries including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Peru, Jordan, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, the former Yugoslavia, Canada and the United States. He has a Master's from MIT in Transport and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
