Skills
Summary
I bring broad and deep experience to almost any hardware project, having worked for, and with large industry giants and small start-ups. Over time, I moved through Technical Leader and Lead Architect positions into the CTO role at Sixdof Space, where I held the senior technical role blending hardware, firmware, optics and algorithms to make the best tracking solution for Augmented Reality and for Drone Landing even in GPS-denied environments. Whilst continuing to work with Sixdof Space, I'm now consulting elsewhere on system and SoC architecture work... at the bleeding edge. I'm a great believer in "design-by-documentation"... it's the most effective way to keep anything but the smallest team in sync - a simple shared Wiki is way better than nothing! My experience is that the process of pre- and/or post-documenting a design is a remarkably good way of discovering bugs before they bite. I'm proud of the many patents I've sole-authored or lead-authored across disparate technical fields; One of my key assets is creative problem-solving skills, and patents are a great way of showing those skills without having to worry about NDAs or confidentiality agreements!
