Darrel Rhea is a seasoned executive recognized internationally for his thought leadership, expertise and 40 years of global experience in Business Strategy, Innovation, Human-centered Design, Customer Insight, and Intellectual Property. Leadership: He has performed in leadership roles including CEO of both private and public companies, Board Chair, Executive Board Member, and Advisory Board Member, and as a Strategic Advisor to leading Multinational Corporations. Strategy: As an expert facilitator, Darrel has guided strategy for dozens of multinationals by fostering the collaboration and alignment executive teams require to be successful. He teaches strategy to executive groups and lectured to leading business graduate schools. Innovation: Rhea has had led innovation strategy, implementing innovation processes, managed new product development, built cultures of innovation by championing creative leadership and design thinking practices. He is expert in leveraging capital, technology, and talent to build new disruptive business models. Design: Rhea has been at the forefront of the practices of Design Management, serving as Vice Chairman of the Design Management Institute, the leading design trade organization for corporate design. Rhea has been developed the system architecture for applying and coordinating all of the design disciplines for multinationals, orchestrating the work of hundreds of designers on global projects. He is co-author of the book Making Meaning: How Successful Businesses Build Meaningful Customer Experiences, and has taught Human-centered Design on five continents. As CEO of Cheskin Added Value (now Kantar Consulting), he conducted, managed, or was accountable for providing oversight for well over $1B in research consulting to support brand and product development. Over three decades Rhea built a successful organization renowned for delivering proprietary insights and go-to-market strategies for the world’s top corporations. He has built, audited, managed and outsourced research departments, and trained thousands of executives on Market Intelligence, Marketing, and Brand Development. Rhea is currently the Founder of Rhea Insight, a consulting practice that leverages his deep experience through facilitation, coaching and training.
