Summary
I joined Battery in 1995. In 2016, I transitioned from a general partner to a senior advisor to the firm. In early 2018, I returned full time to Battery as a Private Equity Partner and am actively involved in all phases of the investment process. Over my time with the firm, my areas of interest have ranged from startups; such as creating BladeLogic (IPO) with an entrepreneur-in-residence; emerging companies, such as SingleHop; and buyouts, such as the take-privates of Consona (formerly Made2Manage Systems), Quovadx (resulting in Healthvision and Rogue Wave), Vero Software (acquired by Hexagon), Forterro (formerly Jeeves), and Easy Software. I have extensive experience with a variety of business models ranging from traditional license software to Software as a Service, as well as information services companies and exchanges. My current portfolio includes B&L Information Systems, Conrizon AG, DomainTools, Forterro, Proemion ResourceWise, and Signiant. In addition, I sit on the board of Nova Instruments/Metrix. My previous investments include Altra Energy Technologies (acquired by Caminus/SunGard), BladeLogic (IPO), Consona (acquired by Vista Equity), Data Innovations (acquired by Roper Industries), Eggrock Partners (acquired by Breakaway Solutions), Envaince (acquired by Cority), Healthvision (acquired by Lawson Software), HighJump Software (acquired by Accellos), IHS (acquired by Sabre), Rogue Wave Software (acquired by Audax Private Equity), SingleHop (acquired by Internap), Vastera (IPO) and Vero Software (acquired by Hexagon).
