Summary
At my core, I'm an engineer. My purpose has never varied: fix important problems. The problems I've chosen have varied. Usually, they cause human suffering. The solutions applied in the fix have varied. Usually, they've been technological. Now, the problem area I've chosen is our ailing healthcare system. Technology is key, but so is Design Thinking. After all, it is humans who use technology, and not the other way 'round. Healthcare is complicated. Very few problems in healthcare are simple. Years of careful scrutiny have taught me that successfully applying a solution to problems in healthcare is not simple either. In the end, the only way to fix healthcare's most pressing problems is to focus on people, not technology. That's what I do now: People first. Then their problems. Then...technology. My work is now embodied in the efforts of QiiQ Healthcare.
