Summary
I am passionate about technologies that will have a very positive impact on society; primarily, medical devices. If you have an exciting project, related to the development of Medical Devices, I can help you develop it. I am a Mechanical Engineer from Universidad de Los Andes, graduated in 1985, my thesis was on the reconstruction of the knee, long before biomedical engineering was formally introduced. I have over 30 years of professional experience in oil field services with Schlumberger in various parts of the world, the development of advanced technologies and ventures on the Internet with HP labs in Silicon Valley, and leading a division of products dedicated to defense with GE that later became Safran. I have now returned to the field of biomedical engineering to teach students about Innovation and entrepreneurship of medical devices at the University of Los Andes. I am currently developing devices to assist orthopedic surgeons in reducing the risk of infection during TKA and have developed a device, that received a patent, to assist with dermabrasion for burned patients.
