Summary
I've worked as a software developer. I've worked as a technology journalist. The wonderful thing about building Recent News is that I get to do both. I created an early news search engine called Rocketbot over a decade ago -- and I've wanted to apply artificial intelligence techniques to news personalization ever since. Unfortunately it was simply too expensive to build at the time: machine learning and natural language processing were prohibitively expensive at scale.
