DWAIN ELLIOTT is the President of Urban Focus Communications, a company based in Dallas, Texas that provides comprehensive marketing and media communication services to small businesses, churches, and community organizations. Elliott was the Communications Director for the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross in Baton Rouge, LA. Previously, he was the Director of Marketing and Promotions for Citywide (now Citadel) Communications, and frequently served as Host of Q-106?s popular morning show, Question of the Day. He later served as the Public Relations Director for Southern University and A&M College, and was Host/Producer of Jaguar Prime Time! on WLFT-TV. In Los Angeles, Elliott gained national recognition as an authority on local cable television production and programming. As Director of Marketing and Programming for TCI/American Cable systems, he managed and programmed the local cable TV channels, produced and directed countless programs and announcements, and coordinated all marketing and promotional efforts. Elliott also served on the National Board of Directors of the NFLCP (now the Alliance for Community Media), and was the Video Production Consultant for the City of Los Angeles, teaching the highly acclaimed Television Production Workshop for Non-profits. Elliott continued working in municipal government as the Community Relations Director for the City of Pomona, CA. and was also a Newspaper Columnist and Bureau Chief. Elliott began his career as a Public Affairs Specialist in the United States Marine Corps. Afterwards, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University, and was a Teaching Assistant at his alma mater. He completed a News Internship at KPIX-TV (CBS) in San Francisco, and was hired by KGO-TV (ABC) as a Writer and Producer for the city's top-rated television newscast.
