Summary
Eric is a trailblazer in the fields of virtual reality, photorealistic rendering, and image-based synthesis. As the chief engineer of Apple QuickTime VR in the early 90s, Eric pioneered core technology for 360 VR and developed the first panoramic image stitcher and virtual tour viewer on a Macintosh. With a background in industrial design, he transitioned into computer graphics, making noteworthy publications early in his career. Two of his papers were selected as seminal graphics contributions by ACM SIGGRAPH. AMiner named him one of the 100 most influential scholars in computer graphics in 2016. Eric holds over 20 US patents as an inventor and has embarked on a journey as a serial tech entrepreneur post his Apple stint. He founded several tech startups and led four successful exits to companies like Live Picture, WebEx, Avaya, and Meta.
