Summary
Director, District 7, Santa Clara Valley Water District. I am proud to have been elected by 55% of the voters in my District, garnering almost 50,000 votes, on a platform of sustainability, environmental justice, and climate action. I am committed to doing everything I can on behalf of our communities and our future generations to ensure that all people regardless of circumstances have consistent, affordable access to clean drinking water. I cannot succeed without your engagement and input, so please reach out to me often to tell me your concerns, perspectives, challenges, and experiences. We face urgent, existential threats from imminent climate disaster. This is not a drill. We need all hands on deck to save what we can for future generations. My guiding principles: - People over Profit. - Housing is a Human Right - Peace officers should be practice peace - Anti-racism - Gender equity - Living wages - Public transit - Regenerative family farms - Cities designed for people, not cars - Veganism - Animal rights - Planning for 7 generations down the line - Integrity, courage, and heart - The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (globalgoals.org) We have more that unites us than we have that divides us. With love, Rebecca
