Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better through my LinkedIn profile. Professionally, I have a passion for innovation, particularly the “business side” of innovation. Having worked on innovations as a Fortune 100 intrapreneur as well as an entrepreneur, I’ve come to appreciate the different advantages that each approach brings to architecting the plan that best tranforms ideas/innovations into profitable businesses. The key element I’ve learned is that, just like you wouldn’t start building a skyscraper without a “building” architect’s blueprint to guide that significant investment you shouldn’t start building a new business (whether product or service) without a clear blueprint from an business architect to guide that significant investment. In my current role as an business architect at Frehner-Jens I bring to our clients my 30+ years of business architecting experience with companies ranging in size from Fortune 100 companies like Procter & Gamble to startups we’ve co-founded like TeamSnap. And, in addition to this practical experience, we bring a superior methodology (called Fast-Forward) which brings together the strengths of the big company (rigorous research and planning) and startup (fast-cycle learning and adapting) approaches. Personally, I’m a curious individual that’s eager to continue my learning on just about anything, but especially around the interests of my kids. I’m a proud father of a son and daughter, both budding entrepreneurs who have started their first organizations and are learning there’s a lot more to success than just having an idea. I am generally game to do anything outdoors but my passions are scuba diving, hiking in new places and traveling the world with my family.
