Summary
I had been studying and training in the performing arts industry for quite some time, both as a performer/behind-the-scenes worker and as administrative staff in theater and event production since I was in college and for the number of years I was in New York (8 years total). Since coming back to Japan, my bilingual skills were needed in the entertainment industry and I worked as an coordinator and on-site interpreter for television, concerts, theater, and events, having knowledge of show business terminology in both Japanese and in English. AD PROJECT, an events production company I was with previously, was asked to host and manage all event operations when one of the largest Asian amateur golf championships was held in Japan in 2011. I was hired to help plan, coordinate, and host the Gala Party and the VIP guests during their stay throughout the tournament. My other role in this project was to act as a personal concierge for the VIP guests and as their interpreter when needed. Since this big project, I became full-time with the company and worked in similar projects in addition to touring with a famous magician/illusionist. I acted as production and tour manager for the illusionist's company and executed shows in Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, and in Japan. After leaving AD PROJECT in 2017, I've been working for KYODO FACTORY, INC., which is a part of the KYODO TOKYO group, one of the largest live entertainment production and ticketing companies in Japan. My role now mainly consists of live theater production coordination and occasionally work as tour interpreter/manager for certain shows/projects that involve international companies.
