Summary

Ernst Bauer has over 25 years of sales, business development, marketing and fundraising experience. Since December 2007, Ernst has been the Director of Development of the Golden State Division (San Francisco) of The Salvation Army. In this role, he has completely rebuilt the Development team which has produced double digit gains year over year during one of the worst recessions in America. Prior to joining The Salvation Army, Ernst was Director of Sales and Business Development for Hiemstra Product Development, LLC (San Francisco) for nine years helping build the company from 3 to 25 employees with revenue growth of over 100%. Hiemstra was a full service product development company focusing on the design and development of handheld medical devices for major medical device corporations and Silicon Valley start-ups and has now been folded into Lunar Design. He founded Strategies International, LLC (San Francisco), a business development consulting firm, in 1994. Before that Ernst served in various sales and field service capacities at Georgia-Pacific (Dallas, TX), Aire Sheetmetal (Redwood City, CA), and Drexel Burnham Lambert (Seattle, WA). He holds a BSBA and MBA from the University of Arkansas. In 1991 Ernst founded the University of Arkansas Bay Area Alumni Chapter and has since raised a scholarship endowment fund of $110,000. In 2000, Ernst was recognized as one of the top Bay Area political fundraisers for that presidential campaign cycle. He has been a board member of the Sam M. Walton College of Business Advisory Council, the University of Arkansas Alumni Association, The California Council for International Trade, and served on the San Francisco Salvation Army Advisory Board from the years 2000 to 2007.
