Summary
As a multi-aspect and international consultant, I have followed two trajectories in my professional life. Both gave me valuable insights and decades of expertise. The one that I am currently in is Project and Program Management for Technical (Safety) Systems. Think ERTMS, ORBIT and EMC programs. Next to my technical knowledge my skills include advance stakeholder management, Decision Quality and Decision Analysis and Design Thinking and I have been a coach to junior leadership programs. For this, I have worked for more than 10 years on the design, implementation and operational improvement of the Netherlands High Speed Line (HSL). I have also worked in the National ERTMS Programme and it's junior predecessor, the Dual Signaling (ATB/ERTMS) ERTMS Pilot. All of them large technical projects with complex stakeholder management, public interests and industry suppliers. The other trajectory I have followed is organizational performance and learning, including communities of practice and social networks. Over the years I have gained extensive knowledge which I later used for my Program Manegement and coaching work. I did work at Borax, Shell, Shell Nigeria, Rio Tinto mining, Ecopetrol, Solvay, and many others in the oil and gas, medical, chemicals and manufacturing industry. I also contributed to programs in this field at INSEAD, Rotterdam Business School and the London School of Economics. I published a work on radical innovation. In 2008 I was appointed to work on a SNA research project by the University of Brisbane. In 2011 I have set up a volunteer cause which is transitioned into a foundation to alleviate poverty and provide leadership for sustainable change. I am an avid soccer enthousiast but a mediocre centre-back, amateur photographer, and have poor dancing skills. My personal improvement interest are innovation and sustainable development. I love to travel and have strong ties to South America.
