Summary
Together with my partners I build and invest in innovative technology companies all around the world. I’m originally from Munich, initially spent time in the gaming industry (Command & Conquer Tiberium Sun), then co-founded and served as CEO of our event ticketing startup amiando, which we sold to public-listed XING back in 2010. After a well-needed break, we did it again in almost the same founders’ constellation by founding IDnow - now a European champion for KYC and Identity Verification products, which we sold to private equity firm Corsair in 2025. In 2014, I teamed up with two other partners to build Bits & Pretzels as our "hobby that spiraled out of control", now Germany’s leading startup founders conference. Also in 2014, I teamed up with my other partners to form 10x Group, a startup investing group, which in the meantime also has sparked FLEX Capital, a small-cap software PE firm, and 10x Founders, an early-stage startup venture firm. So days are packed :-) Notable investments include companies like Revolut, GetYourGuide, Quantum Systems, Enpal, Egym, Upvest, Roadsurfer, Isar Aerospace, HomeToGo, Zepto and many more. Before entering the business world, I studied electrical engineering in Munich, Zurich and Stanford – and did a lot of own coding ranging from good old Assembler and C++ up into modern frameworks like C# and all the web and mobile stuff like Swift. And at least I can grasp the very basics of Tensorflow and OpenAI APIs. I love the time I spend on the various ventures, but when I’m not in front of screens, my greatest joy is spending time with my family as well as pursuing my big hobby & passion, aviation, as a pilot.
