William Fong was born and raised in Washington D.C., graduating from the University of Maryland and receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. William is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of Texas, Board of Legal Specialization. He is honored in "Best Lawyers in America" every year since 2012, and regularly named in "Best Lawyers in Texas. William has been listed by Forbes as a top 10 immigration attorney in Houston, Texas. William is an adjunct professor at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law teaching employment-based and family-based immigration law. He has taught business immigration at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) School of law. He is a co-founder of the Institute for International and Immigration Law (IIIL) at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. William is active in the legal community, as a speaker at AILA National Conferences, and Texas Chapter immigration seminars; speaking at State Bar immigration conferences and the UT Immigration Conference. He served as the Consular Liaison for AILA Texas Chapter; coordinates and speaks at IIIL immigration CLE conferences; served 3 terms as a Vice-President of the Asian American Bar Association; and as a Committee member of the State Bar of Texas, Opportunities for Minorities Committee and Committee to Elect Minority Directors. Mr. Fong serves as an American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) employment-based immigration mentor and Houston Bar Association (HBA) mentor. Mr. Fong is the author of immigration articles published in Texas Lawyer and immigration websites.
