Summary
I am an independent journalist at my newsletter, The Dig, an educator, a researcher, and a public speaker. Most recently I was a full-time lecturer in accounting at The Wharton School, Univ. of Pennsylvania. I am currently an adjunct professor at Montclair State University and the University of Miami, teaching accounting ethics and my custom-made fraud case course. I taught six years at American University in Washington D.C., the international business to the AU MBAs. I have also taught at Ohio State University -my custom course on accounting ethics - and at Baylor University - my custom course on reporting on corporate fraud. From 2015 to 2019 I was the Transparency Reporter at MarketWatch.com, a Dow Jones/News Corp publication, based in Washington D.C. As a freelance writer I wrote for Forbes, Financial Times, Reuters Breakingviews, Boston Review, American Banker, Columbia Journalism Review, and the Chicago Booth Review, and many others. Quoted in media frequently. My blog, re: The Auditors, covered the accounting industry regulation. You can now find that legacy content at FrancineMcKenna.com. "Accounting Watchdog" was a column for Forbes.com and "Accountable" for American Banker. Industry experience includes serving PwC Internal Audit clients and as a member of PwC's firm-level internal audit team. I was Midwest RVP for Jefferson Wells, Inc., where I led a team of 500 professionals including sales, operations, and client service for 10 offices. I was the first female MD in Latin America for KPMG Consulting, BearingPoint, where I led the Industrial, Automotive and Transportation practice. I was also a VP at JPMorgan Latin America where I led JPM's Y2K PMO. Fluent in Spanish. Registered CPA in IL.
