Summary
I have worked with several companies in and around Pune to improve their productivity and quality. Starting with Kalyani Brakes, where I was part of a team to set up their manufacturing plant at Chakan. It has been set up as a Cellular Layout. Subsequently set up several small companies on a turnkey basis as vendors and service providers to larger companies. These companies are all in the area of metal cutting/ machining and include auto component manufacturers, toolrooms and job shops. They use CNC machines and produce precision and quality components for customers in India and overseas. I also work with Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA)IMTMA organises an international machine tool exhibition, called IMTEX, which is well known in this field. I help IMTMA organise technical seminars and workshops as well as technology trend studies. I write for two technical magazines. The Machinist, an Economic Times publication and Modern Machine Tools, Tata Infomedia. These are leading technical publications in manufacturing and machine tools in India. Specialties: Setting up turnkey projects in automotive component manufacturing, machined components and related areas. Writing in trade magazines related to machine tools, processes, quality, TPM Carrying out technical trend studies in machine tools Helping development of machine tool clusters
