Summary
Geoff A. Cohen is a computer scientist and policy analyst. Previously, he worked at Elysium Digital, an Aon company, where he focused on technology risk assessment and litigation. He served as an expert witness on topics including enterprise software, telecommunications and mobile devices, and geospatial data and applications. Prior to his work at Elysium, he led the Internet Security & Privacy working group at the M.I.T. Communications Futures Program, and worked with the National Academies' Computer Science and Telecommunications Board. He has also worked for Ernst & Young, IBM, and Data General. From 1992-1994, he worked as an analyst in the National Security Division of the Congressional Budget Office. He served as a Peer Reviewer for the NTIA's Broadband Technology Opportunities Program. He also served on the Town of Brookline (MA) Information Technology Advisory Committee and was an elected member of Brookline Town Meeting 2001-2007. He was a participant in the National Academies workshop on Deterring Cyberattacks, where his paper on targeting third parties won First Prize for Cyberdeterrence Scholarship. He is a member of the Association of Computing Machinery's U.S. Technology Policy Council (USTPC). He is a member of the Intelligence Science and Technology Experts Group (ISTEG). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Duke University and an A.B. from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
