Summary
George Lin retired as SVP of IT from Silicon Valley Community Foundation, the world's largest community foundation by assets. During his tenure, he and his IT organization ensured the foundation's secure and continuous operations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and helped to disperse over $4.5 billion USD in grants to recipients. Prior to his role with SVCF, George jumpstarted Rambus Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings which were acquired by Visa. Previously, he was SVP & CIO for CallidusCloud (now SAP Sales Cloud), the global leader in cloud sales, marketing, learning, and customer experience solutions. George also served as SVP & CIO of Dolby Laboratories, VP & CIO of Advent Software (acquired by SS&C), VP & Divisional CIO of EMC Software (acquired by Dell), and VP & CIO of Documentum (acquired by EMC). George holds a number of industry awards and accomplishments, two of which include being named a Premier 100 IT Leader by Computerworld magazine in 2003 and CIO Decisions magazine’s Mid-Market Leadership Award in 2006. Under George’s leadership, Dolby Laboratories was honored with CIO magazine’s CIO 100 Award in 2008. George is a contributing author of two CIO leadership and IT management books. He previously served on the CIO advisory board of the Fisher IT Center at the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, and guest lectured at local graduate schools. George graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. George enjoys being an active community leader by giving back his time and expertise. He currently serves on the City of San Ramon's Innovation and Technology Advisory Committee. Previously, George served on the City of San Ramon's Economic Development Advisory Committee, advising the development and eventual adoption of the City's Economic Development Strategic Plan of 2019.
