Summary

Whether you’re working on galvanizing an ecosystem of an organization or a whole social sector or movement, to fully enliven it you need to engage its collective intelligence for discovering its highest future potential and hidden resources. I have been researching, teaching, and consulting in the arts and sciences of emergent collective intelligence since 1987, when my mentor, the late Doug Engelbart, introduced me to their core concept. As the years passed, I became increasingly convinced that only breakthroughs in growing competencies in our collective intelligence and deepening our collective wisdom will let us resolve our increasingly complex business, societal, and environmental challenges. As their strategic learning partner, I introduced various tools and processes for the flourishing of organizations, large and small, over the decades. I participated in the founding team of the World Café method and the founding meeting of the Presencing Institute, and I was trained in Spiral Dynamics, Warm Data Lab, and Platform Design Toolkit, just to name a few. I am an independent scholar with past academic posts at the London School of Economics, INSEAD, UC Berkeley, California Institute of Integral Studies, Université de Paris. I pioneered theoretical and methodological frameworks such as shared mindfulness, Knowledge Ecology, Innovation Architecture, Chaordic Dialogue, and Generative Action Research.
