Giles McNamee

Summary

I have over thirty years of experience in the investment industry. I founded both McNamee Lawrence Securities and CTBNL, Inc. to provide advisory and investment banking services to growth-oriented technology companies. Since 2008, my team and I have acted as the exclusive buy-side M&A advisor to NetSuite (NYSE: N). Recent transactions advising NetSuite include the acquisitions of Demand Solutions Group (2016), IQity (2016); Bronto Software (2015), Monexa (2015), Venda, Inc. (2014), TribeHR Corp. (2013), OrderMotion Inc. (2013) and Element Fusion (2013). In addition, we advised NetSuite on the sale of a division of Monexa in 2016. CTBNL has also advised on fundraising and M&A for Virtual Clarity in the UK (Series D financing in July 2015), SeeWhy Inc (recap in 2011, Series A financing in 2012/13, sale to SAP in 2014), and UNYK Holdings in Canada (sale to Viadeo). At CTBNL’s predecessor firm McNamee Lawrence & Co., which I co-founded, I advised over 75 clients and closed over 55 transactions. Prior to MLC, I was a managing director with Hambrecht & Quist (H&Q) and its successor organizations, Chase H&Q and JPMorgan H&Q. At H&Q, I was responsible for over $70 billion in transactions for Art Technology Group, Blaze Software, Brio Technology, Centra Software, CMGi, Content Technologies, Critical Path, Getty Images, Jupiter Media, Liberate Technology, Lycos, MapInfo, MP3.com, Plug Power, Quadstone, Red Hat, SEAT Pagine Gialle, Sybase, Telecom Italia, TruSecure and Tumbleweed. I hold a Series 7, Series 24 (Principal), Series 27 (Financial Principal) and Series 63 (MA) licenses and am registered with the FSA (UK). I received my BA in History from Yale College.
