Summary

My current playground is the silver economy and lifelong employment. Canada, like other countries, is experiencing a talent shortage and growing talent is my forte. As a former management consultant with KPMG, I have focused on creativity and talent management my entire career. Now as Managing Partner of Creativity in Business Canada Inc., I provide consulting services in innovation management — the design, development and implementation of innovation strategies that transform organizational cultures, and drive engagement in high-performance teams for competitive advantage. The consultancy originated during my work with founder Michael Ray at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Our Creativity in Business team's collective experience was documented in Michael Ray's book, "The Highest Goal"(2005). Creativity drives everything I do. In academe, I have a proven track record of building talent-based, inclusive research and innovation cultures. In my role as Associate Dean (2018-2021) and Dean (2021-2024) of Research and Innovation at Humber Polytechnic, I built and led an exceptional high-performance team. Together we: • expanded research funding and professional development (Applied Research Program) for faculty and administrators through SoTL and applied industry research, • built a solid interdisciplinary body of applied research projects including the B2C Lab and ACER, . developed an international research partnership with colleagues in Denmark and New Zealand to study student-centred learning, • created an innovative research dissemination platform through the revitalization and expansion of Humber Press, • designed and delivered Research Bootcamps for international students with a team of global academic researchers, and • significantly grew the research profile of Humber Polytechnic among our peers: o to rank 1st in Canada for research income growth between 2019-2023, o to rank 1st in the Greater Toronto Area as an applied research institution, and o to rank 5th in Canada overall among research colleges. (Research Infosource, Canada’s Innovation Leaders 2024 rankings). ORCID number: 000-0001-9130-1228
