Summary
I'm a consultant advising technology companies on public relations and communications. Recent clients include GuRu Wireless Inc., a millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology company developing products for business and people who want to stop running wires, changing batteries, or plugging things in; and FRESHr, the first online marketplace that aggregates and updates supply and demand for fresh local produce in real-time. Past engagements include Facebook, Atlassian, RPX Corp., Affirm, Tubemogul (acquired by Adobe) 13th Lab (acquired by Oculus), C3 Technologies (acquired by Apple), Eta Devices (acquired by Nokia), iZettle (acquired by PayPal), Wrapp (merged with Meniga), Epidemic Sound, Romeo Power, Kindred.ai, Peltarion, Airspace Systems, ELEV8, Majority, the first online bank dedicated to serving migrants worldwide, and Appen, which collects and labels data used to build and continuously improve the world’s most innovative artificial intelligence systems. Previously I was CMO for Rebtel, the Swedish mobile voice over IP company that I helped found in January 2006. Before Rebtel, I was the president and CEO of Blanc & Otus, a WPP technology PR firm, where I was responsible for client services, operations, human resources, and financial performance for the agency’s offices in San Francisco, Austin, Boston, and London. I also led teams serving Hitachi Data Systems, Blu-ray Disc Association, and Facebook. My work at B&O spanned from global leaders Sony PlayStation and HP, to high growth start-ups at the time E.piphany, Ariba, Openwave, TiVo, and Hotwire. Before joining B&O in May 2000, I was president of GCI Group's San Francisco office, originally Jennings & Company, which I co-founded in 1990. Under my direction, the office enjoyed rapid growth with clients such as Sun Microsystems, Adobe, Seagate, and Visa International. Before Jennings & Company, I was West Coast bureau chief for PC Week. I began my career in 1980 as a reporter for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Specialties: Competitive communications strategy, messaging, positioning, media relations, writing.
