Three things I live by: 1. Security must enable the business. If your "security program" stops people from doing their jobs, they will find ways around it. 2. Audits should not stop with checking the box. There's a reason behind every instance of non-compliance; you need to understand that reason before you can make an actionable recommendation. 3. If you want to be successful, there's no substitute for high personal standards and hard work. These are much easier to achieve when you love your work!
