Summary
Teaching artist in the Arts and Entertainment Technologies Department in the School of Design and Creative Technologies, in the College of Fine Arts, at the University of Texas at Austin. My teaching integrates spontaneous creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication -- and play! I am the foundations lead for our department and connect historical art and design foundational techniques to 21st-century technology. I specialize in positive future-focused critiques, visual problem-solving, design thinking, and STEAM curriculum development. I develop alternative career readiness assessments such as the Conversational Exam designed to prepare students for in-person interviews. For 12 years, I taught observational drawing, fashion drawing, design fundamentals, and life drawing to students in the Fashion, Media Arts, Animation, and Game Art concentrations at the Art Institute of Austin.
